Mind-Altering Quantum Experiment Shows Time Has Never Existed as We Think It Does

Back in 2012, a paper published in Nature Physics showed us that the present is constrained by the future and the past. This meaning that what happens in the present can depend on what happened in the future, while this makes no sense to most of us to those in the field of quantum physics it makes all the difference.

Quantum physics is something that most of us find hard to wrap our heads around, I am included in this. While I do my best to understand it, sometimes I am left in the dust. The instance I am referring to is not the first time in which quantum physicists have studied the structure of time, it is something that has been and will continue to be studied for years to come.

The ‘delayed-choice‘ experiment is a groundbreaking experiment that could be seen as a modified version of the well known double slit experiment. You see, the double slit experiment was one in which very small bits of matter were shot towards a screen that had two slits in it. On the other side of the screen, a high tech video camera recorded where the photons landed. If one slit is closed the camera will show an expected pattern as you will notice in the video below.

That being said when both slits are open an ‘interference pattern’ comes up. These begin to act like waves of some sort and each photon individually goes through both slits at the same time. It goes through one slit, both slits, and neither of the slits. The matter pieces become waves of potentials.

The ‘delayed-choice’ experiment itself has been demonstrated on more than one occasion in the same manner that the double slit has. It involves adding a quantum eraser to the mix. For more information on this experiment and the differences between the two experiments please watch the video below.

This sort of thing seems to be a common phenomenon when it comes to quantum physics. The experiment suggests that quantum entanglement (which has been verified) exists regardless of time. This means that two bits of matter can be entangled repeatedly in time. This all points to one huge answer, time as we know it doesn’t actually exist. What are your thoughts on these experiments and do you feel that they are accurate?
